As director of business development at Change.org, Julia Smekalina oversees sales and partnerships with political campaigns, advocacy organizations, and industry groups.
Prior to joining Change.org, Julia managed the political clients and strategy business for IMGE, a full-service digital marketing agency. Julia worked with some of the country’s biggest campaigns, candidates, and brands to build their digital marketing strategy and has helped over 40 political campaigns and candidates secure victory in their election using digital media. Her work reached millions of voting Americans online through social media, email and digital advertising and her clients have been featured for their innovative use of technology, creative design, social media, email marketing and advertising.
Prior to her time at IMGE, Julia managed communications and digital strategies for several statewide and local political campaigns. Julia was the first to develop a comprehensive online strategy for the National Association of Manufactures to help them influence policy makers and reach their membership on key issues like the Export-Import Bank and immigration reform.
Originally from California, Julia’s first political job was in the Schwarzenegger administration.
