Mike Nellis is a digital communications and fundraising specialist with more than a decade of experience working in progressive politics and currently works as the Vice President of Campaigns at Revolution Messaging. He joined the company after serving as the Digital Director for Connecticut Governor Dan Malloy, where his digital fundraising and social media operation helped lift the campaign to a narrow three point victory. He is a two-time finalist for the New Organizing Institute’s “Most Valuable Organizer” and has led or been a part of teams that have won numerous Pollie and Reed awards. At twenty-nine, Mike has worked on digital communications for five U.S. Senators, twenty U.S. Representatives, and four U.S. Governors — 140 campaigns and non-profit organizations all-together.
At Revolution Messaging, Mike acted as the Digital Fundraising Manager for Tim Canova’s historic congressional campaign in South Florida, which broke numerous records on its way to raising nearly $4 million online from more than 200,000 individual grassroots contributions. He is also widely credited with the 2010 revival of North Carolina Secretary of State Elaine Marshall’s U.S. Senate campaign, where his digital program raised $2 million in small-dollar online contributions.
Mike currently manages digital strategy for Senator Kamala Harris and consults with the ACLU and MoveOn on digital fundraising and advocacy strategy and content.
